Some of the best barbecue west of the MississippiThis is one of the best restaurants in town for good old fashioned Kansas City barbecue. If you want to take a break from brisket the chicken is great. My favorite!I've found a lot of people disagree with me, but Arthur Bryant's is my favorite KC BBQ, even over Gates! Granted, I've lived in KC almost my whole life, and I NEVER had Gates until this past year. But, Bryant's is still at the top of my list! I think it's the atmosphere that does it for me! BBQ must-seeWhen my family moved to Kansas City 6 years ago, the one thing everyone told us to do was try the BBQ. So that summer, we visited all of the popular BBQ restaurants in town, and Arthur Bryant's was one of the first. The employees and the experience itself are what I remember more than the food (although it was delicious!) because everyone is yelling at you asking what you want and moving you along the line; it's such an energetic atmosphere. KC IconThe jury is still out on KC's tastiest barbecue joint, but there's no doubt that Arthur Bryant's may be the world's most renown. Pictures of past U.S. presidents, famous actors and other celebrities hang on the restaurant's walls, and the just-as-famous food always impresses. I suggest the burnt ends or pulled pork and, of course, a heaping helping of fries. |
