Mud Pie Vegan Bakery and Coffeehouse

You guys all love Trader Joe’s, that’s for sure! Ha, I was not lacking in TJ’s recommendations … can’t wait to try them all out. Thanks for your input!

Erik’s sister, husband and kids are in town this week so we’ve been busy hanging out with them. This past weekend, though, I snapped some photos of our favorite KC coffee shop.

Mud Pie Vegan Bakery & Coffeehouse

Mud Pie is Kansas City’s first and only vegan bakery and coffee shop.

It’s located at 1615 W 39th Street and operated by Michael Valverde and his wife, Ashley. It resides in a house turned coffee shop, which makes its relaxing, warm coffee shop atmosphere that much more authentic. Before becoming Mud Pie, this W 39th Street shop was previously Javanaut Coffeehouse.

Mud Pie is open Tuesday through Saturday 7 am to 10 pm and Sundays from 8 am to 8 pm.

What’s a bakery/coffeehouse without wonderful baked goods? And not just any baked goods, these babies are all vegan.

The two story house is full of comfy couches, tables, art and wonderful coffeehouse ambiance.

After walking around for picture taking, we drank our refreshing iced tea outside to enjoy the hot summer night.

Love it here! It’s become a fun place to go on the weekends at night to drink tea when we don’t want to go home yet.

What’s your favorite hot summer night hang out?
