How to shift your wardrobe from "barely there" to spicy autumn wear
Although the temperatures are still bouncing back and forth between blissfully mild to scorchingly sour, our natural circadium rhythm won’t let us forget that the seasonal shift is right around the corner. Retailers are a constant reminder to start stocking up on those much-needed essentials for comforting fall days. Inside stores, cashmere is folded nicely, and even the puffer jackets are hung to perfection. (I know, ALREADY?) Yes, it’s all about preparing yourself for the hibernating months ahead. What are some of the most needed items on your shopping list this fall?
Color: Ox-blood and gemstone hues are a must. Be certain to mind your color wheel. Choose a hue that will cause your skin to glow, not wash you out.
Denim: If you haven't invested in a great pair of jeans or your denim stock needs updating, now is the time. Find a high-quality pair of blues that suit your body type and your personal style. Leather: You can dress it up or down, girl-ify it or go full-on style rock star. Boots: You've got to splurge on these. They'll last forever and always look chic. I love Frye boots.
Layers: When you put several simple pieces together, it becomes a subtle flair without distracting frills. Plus, it's practical.
Where should you look for these styles locally? Clique Boutique--They carry brands for your cashmere and leather. 360 Cashmere and Veda are some of my go-to favorites, not to mention Mackage and Sanctuary. A little bit goes a long way, so an investment is worth every penny. Feng--Colored denim includes Tory Burch and some magnificent inspirations from France. Ooh la la!
