He’s one of the greatest golf players to step onto the green, and his eight PGA tour wins are only a small divot into long career. The Kansas City native grew up practicing his swing at the Kansas City Country Club and has gone club to club against Jack Nicklaus, Tiger Woods and Greg Norman. High-profilers and celebrities flock to more than a dozen courses Watson has designed, including the Cassique course in South Carolina, which landed on the Top Ten list of America’s Best New Private Courses by Golf Digest. When he’s not playing expert on ESPN, Watson is competing or hosting the high-profile golf tournament to benefit Children’s Mercy Hospitals right here in KC.

Golf isn't the only sport in where celebrities are flying the flag for Kansas City. The Kansas City Chiefs' Cornerback Brandon Flowers has been a revelation ever since arriving in KC in the second round of the 2008 draft.  In the world of motor sports Kansas City political activist Scott Tucker continues to go from strength to strength in American Le Mans Series (ALMS). Tucker is the reigning ALMS P2 class champion and looks set to wrap up an unprecedented third consecutive championship in 2012.

KC natives are flying the flag in the arts world too. Sculptor Tom Corbin's work is on display all over the world, so is the celebrity photography of KC born photographer Greg Gorman. Although his celebrity client list remains a secret interior designer Hal Swanson has an A-list Hollywood client portfolio. The silver screen is represented by KC natives Ed Asner, Chris Cooper, and Brad Pitt. Rising stars Tuc Watkins from 'Desperate Housewives' and Paul Rudd from 'Clueless' and 'Anchorman' are also from KC. KC Jazz saxophonist Bobby Watson has been entertaining music fans all over the world for over a quarter of a century.
