Helllloooooo Concrete Catwalkers!! While Jessie is off soaking up the sun and spreading her fashion wisdom across San Diego, I'm so excited to be here babysitting her blog for the day!! I have two fun facts for you: 1. Jessie and I met our first week of college and after finding out how much we had in common (our whole families' histories are strangely intertwined), we were attached at the hip ever since! I got the privilege of being one of her maids of honor and know she will be a part of my life forever. LOVE her! And she's my blogging inspiration of course. 2. While most of the country is off laying at the beach, enjoying summer BBQs, and working on their tans, I am here in the gray NW just trying to stay dry and warm!! I laughed when I saw that the guest posters' themes this week would most likely be beachy/vacation looks, and then saw what our forecast was here in Portland. But I made it out of my sweats and blanket on the couch because I realized, just maybe, there are girls in other parts of the country, suffering just like me, wondering how to brighten their gray days. So here's what I came up with on a rainy day out to brunch and a movie: I matched the gray day with my dark gray pants (I prefer ankle pants in the rain so they don't get wet) and my gray cardigan, but then threw in sunny colors with my fluorescent t-shirt and bright blue necklace. Then kept it neutral with a tan belt and leopard flats (I consider these neutrals in my book, I wear them with everything). I don't know about you, but a little hot pink and leopard brightens my day every time :) xoxo, Sara top: Forever 21 sweater: Nordstrom (B.P.) pants: Forever 21 necklace: Portobello Market in London belt: Nordstrom (B.P.) shoes: store in London purse: hand-me-down from my Grammy umbrella: Target |
