| An abundance of prints from Roberto Cavalli |

Posted in Fashion » Fashion Blog » Clothing » Fashion Designer Collections Roberto Cavalli doesn't acknowledge the minimalistic approach to life. It almost seems like he doesn't want to. In every collection, his life appears to be purling in an extravagant, loud and colourful bohemian river. Heavily influenced by the hippie culture from the 1960s, Cavalli's 2011 collections have been invaded by a relaxed and chilled vibe. The resort 2012 collection is no different, as chunky floral prints, African tribal artwork and fluorescent colours rule the look book. Cavalli has taken whipstitching, fraying, patchwork and embroidery to new heights by incorporating them in a less typical and more modernised fashion. The silhouette is feminine but low maintenance, despite the presence of a few tuxedo jackets and cigarette pants in the collection. Mind you, there aren't any bell-bottom pants or wide-sleeve shirts here. But bead necklaces, head scarves and one-shoulder dresses still ring in the Twiggy effect.
